You will find the ‘ELLERGRUB’ vineyard on a steep slope about 3 kilometers out of Traben-Trarbach on the way to the wine village of Enkirch. The vineyard has a southern exposure and for more than 200 years has been planted with the RIESLING grape. In the fall, the grapes ripen until they are touched by botrytis which gives the resulting sweet wines outstanding character and fruit. In addition, the vineyard soil, consisting mainly of blue Rhenish slate, contains valuable minerals which also enrich the wine. The maximum exposure to the sun, rich soil and
humility from the Mosel river all work in concert, permitting the production of a very noble wine. |

Obtain your own great wine by leasing one or more vines in this vineyard. During the year, we’ll look after your vines with the same care as we do our own -- right through to the harvest and the making of the wine in our cellars at Enkirch. You are, of course, welcome to come and pick your own grapes and follow them through to the crush. If you wish, we would be happy to arrange your accommodation on the Mosel.
